Claire Morris

 
Claire has worked as a Performer and Animateur since 1996. She is the Director and instigator of Co3 Dance (www.co3dance.co.uk) a North West based Dance Company, where she choreographs, dances, fundraises and manages the administrative operations. Co3 are currently exploring Intergenerational Dance through Artistic Project: Co3 +1 – A life in Numbers and have some more exciting projects in the pipeline for 2012.
 
Claire trained at London Contemporary Dance School. Since graduation her work experience has been as dancer/teacher for Swindon Dance's DansConnect a Dance Education Company where she danced and toured dances created by Scott Ambler (AMP), Jonathon Lunn (LCDT) and Banksy (breakdancer). Claire has worked for Rambert Dance Company as a Company Animateur, Biserk Dance Company as a Dancer/Animateur and Ludus Dance Company as a Youth Dance Artist.
 
In Blackpool, Claires hometown, she began to work within the Further and Higher Education Sector, within the HND programme at Blackpool & The Fylde College. Since moving to Chester she has worked at MMU Cheshire, Liverpool John Moores University, Chester University and Edge Hill University as an Associate Lecturer on their BA (hons) programmes.
 
2012 looks to be an exciting year. Claire is currently working on the development and management of Fallen Angels Dance Theatre with husband Paul leading towards a Spring tour. She has instigated and developed Chester Dance Collective, a network of dance artists based in and around Chester, as well as regular sessions for Co3 Dance and Chester University.
 

Claire recently choreographed a Signatures project piece with CAT students: "From Sleep to Tomfoolery" and is looking forward to seeing it in performance on 21st January 2012 at The Lowry.
