The Lowry Youth Dance Ambassador Scheme aims to create opportunities for young people with an interest for dance in the North West of England to work with world-renowned choreographers and dancers on a number of levels; whether that be holding interviews, writing reviews, watching rehearsals or being mentored by dancers
Young people's ideas are vital to The Lowry; and the Dance Ambassador programme gives those who are excited about sharing their experiences and opinions on dance, a platform to shape dance within the region.
The scheme is youth led and you can keep in touch with the latest Dance Ambassador Activity on their tumblr, facebook and twitter pages!

What's Happened So Far?
The young people who came to our Open Day in July were given a ticket to see the amazing Carlos Acosta perform at The Lowry . The Open Day was such a success we had over 50 people attend and sign up to be a Dance Ambassador.
In August, The Lowry and BBC staff provided a training day for the Dance Ambassadors. They were given tips on how to interview directors and choreographers and learnt how to communicate their thoughts through social media.
The Dance Ambassadors volunteered at their first major event at Dance 2011 with Alesha's Street Dance Stars. They worked alongside the NorthWestDance and CBBC teams to liaise with and chaperone major dance companies such as CandoCo, Rambert and Birmingham Royal Ballet who delivered workshops throughout the day. They will also helped supervise the Open Stage event that took place.
This season, the Dance Ambassadors have worked with Candoco, Rambert, Company Chameleon and Shaun Parker & Company. Click here to find out more about what they've been involved in!
