U.Dance is a national programme run by Youth Dance England, the national organisation that champions dance for all children and young people. The aim is for every young person in England to be able to take part in at least one dance performance every year. Whether within a school, or across any other type of youth groups, all performances count.
Register your Performance
You can register your performance event to be part of the U.Dance framework and recieve advice and support and resources for putting on a performance platform. The benefits include certificates, exclusive ticket deals for dance performances and Event of the Month - to win a photographer for your event. Perform at U.Dance NW
As part of the U.Dance framework, each regional team host a Performance Platform, inviting youth groups from their counties to perform together. Applications are now open for U.Dance NW 2012, which will take place at The Lowry and include an exciting worskhop programme!! Click here for more information and application form.
Be a part of U.Dance 2012 - the National Platform
U.Dance NW will act as the selection event for the national platform at the Southbank in July 2012. There will be three evening performances; a residential dance programme and an exciting range of performances and workshops. Performers will include youth dance groups from across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
2012 also will see the first National Youth Dance Company of its kind: The U.Dance Ensemble. With internationally acclaimed choreographer Hofesh Shechter appointed as Artistic Director, the U.Dance Ensemble will create a new piece during three residential rehearsal periods and will premiere the work on Friday 13th July, in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the opening night of U.Dance 2012!
