CandoCo - Turning 20
The group met before the show ‘Turning 20’ with the Co - Artistic Director, Pedro Machado; Head of Touring and Marketing Nadja Dias ; Development & Communication Coordinator Anna Bergström and the dancers.
‘Turning 20’ is CandoCo’s 20th Anniversary tour. The Ambassadors found out all about CandoCo’s choreographic processes; including for one piece of work, the influence of the dancers individual bodies and personalities within the piece. ‘Turning 20’ also showcased Candoco’s first solo performance.

Rambert Dance Company - Seven for a secret
The group met with the Rambert team before the show which included Joce Giles , the Director of Learning, to find out more about the company and its relationship with The Lowry. The group then attended the pre –show talk with Artistic Director Mark Baldwin who explained in detail about the triple bill of performances which included his brand new work Seven for a secret, never to be told and the ever popular ‘A Linha Curva’ Following this the group met with Mark Baldwin in person.

The Signatures Project focused on Shaun Parker & Company - Happy As Larry
The group attended the first ever performance at The Lowry by the Australian company. The performance ‘Happy as Larry’ was full of fun and the company was chosen as the subject of the Signatures project. Signatures is a performance platform for youth groups to create work to present on The Lowry’s Quays stage based on a ‘Signature’ motif or choreographic process of a chosen choreographer, in this case Shaun Parker. The DA group are now looking forward to assisting the dance team with planning for the Signatures performance and running the event which takes place on the 21st January.

Company Chameleon Dance Theatre
The group watched Company Chameleon in rehearsal for their new show ‘Gameshow’ which premières at The Lowry here in Nov. They then met with the company’s Co-Artistic Directors Anthony Missen and Kevin Turner, who talked to the group in length about their journey as Artists in Residence at the Lowry and the inspiration for the show. The group will be taking part in a follow up event before the performance in November.
