We're pleased to announce that Heather Cornell from New York City will be delivering a residency programme designed for advanced tap dancers in conjunction with Manchester Tap Rhythm Project!
The residency is a rare opportunity to work Heather who developed her style as an apprentice to six of the first generation of American tap masters.
Heather will be delivering 3 evening sessions (6pm -approx 10pm) and will work on learning technique relating to musicality and improvisation for the musical dancer. It will also be an opportunity to take advantage of Heather's vast knowledge of rep material from tap Masters.
The fee will £250 for the residency.

Heather Cornell is regarded as one of the world's most innovative and creative tap artists, is known for her deeply musical approach to the art form of tap. An intuitive musician known for her impeccable time and emotional phrasing, Heather tours the globe performing, teaching and mentoring new tap communities.
She is artistic director and choreographer for the acclaimed Manhattan Tap, one of the busiest music/dance companies in the world in the 90's. This company provided the foundation for three generations of dancers like Max Pollack, Tamango, Roxanne "Butterfly", Olivia Rosenkrantz and Chikako Iwahori, many who are leading the field today. Heather is a leader in making music based tap dance - both as an improvisor and choreographer, and was a pioneer in working with world music.
Ms. Cornell developed her style as an apprentice to six of the first generation of American tap masters such as Buster Brown, Eddie Brown, the Copasetics and Silver Belles, Cookie Cook, Steve Condos and Chuck Green.
