Founded in 1975, Ludus Dance specialises in delivering highly skilled, inclusive dance sessions to school and community groups. We create bespoke dance experiences using a range of dance styles and genres, for any client group. Ludus Dance is home to the Ludus Youth Dance Company, the prestigious flagship youth company for the North West. Ludus works in partnership with a variety of organisations to present the highest quality work including; The Dukes, Manchester Camerata, Curious Minds and Preston Guild.

Ludus is embarking on a new phase of work which will focus on the development and delivery of community dance activity in Lancashire. The focus of work will be to develop the Ludus Youth Dance Company, a proposed North West Integrated Youth Dance Company, a range of bespoke community projects in partnership with other organisations, dance centre classes in our Lancaster studio and a range of performance based projects such as the Lancashire Youth Dance Festival.

Background Information

Ludus Dance was founded in 1975 and is known for being the first dance in education company. With a history of creating political and issue based dance for young people with a programme of associated workshops in schools, Ludus has influenced many people within the sector. Alongside a touring programme, Ludus has developped a strand of community focussed activity working across the county of Lancashire. Ludus Dance opens doors to inspire and engage people in dance.
